Team Asylum CM10.1 For Galaxy Note 2 N7100 | AOSP | JOP40D | 4.2.1 Jelly Bean

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2-newTeam Asylum CM is excellent slim and fast custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 as of its CM source built. It was ablout 130MB installation size. It built with latest 4.2.1 Jelly Bean firmware and with all Samsung bloatware removed. It has the very pure Jelly Bean stock experience. This slim and fast custom ROM has been heavily modified on UI which with fresh feeling and experience.  Besides that, your device is able to overclock up to 1.9GHz on CPU performance. In overall, team Asylum CM10.1 is an unofficial build with CM source but worth trying with all the efforts has been made.

Compatibility

The tutorial and guide below is only compatible to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 model. It will not compatible to other devices.
Check phone model – Goto Settings -> About Device -> Model Number.

Requirements

  3. Download and install USB drivers on PC. Download Samsung USB Driver for Windows
  4. Enable Developer Options on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. How To Enable Developer Options On Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (Optional – Only applicable for Android 4.2 and above)
  5. Enable USB Debugging on your device. How to Enable USB Debugging Mode on Android Device.
  6. Backup your personal data on phone to PC to ensure you keep a copy of your personal data (SMS, MMS, Contacts, Internet Settings, Photos and etc). How to Backup Personal Data On Android Device.
  7. Make sure your phone is charged to 50% to avoid interruption during flashing. How to Check Battery Level On Android Device.

Instructions: (From Custom ROM)

  1. Make sure you have follow steps above and enable all the necessary features before start.
  2. Do a Nandroid backup in CWM recovery in case you need for restoration. (Optional)
  3. Connect your device to the computer via micro USB cable.
  4. Copy and paste the downloaded ***ROM***.zip files to your phone internal SD card.
  5. Turn off your phone and disconnect from USB cable.
  6. Press and hold the Power + Volume Up + Home Button to enter CWM/TWRP Recovery.
  7. In Recovery menu, you are always recommended to perform a full Wipe Data/Factory Reset to avoid crashing and ROM compatibility issue. You may skip this step if you upgrade from your previous ROM version. For CWM recovery, use Volume key to navigate in Recovery Mode.
  8. Do Wipe Cache Partition – Select from the menu and select Yes to confirm.
  9. Go to advanced and do Wipe Dalvik Cache — Select from the menu and select Yes to confirm.
  10. From the main menu in Recovery, select the install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from internal sdcard, browse to folder location and select the ***ROM***.zip and click Yes to install.
  11. Back to main menu in Recovery, select the install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from internal sdcard, browse to folder location and select the gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip file and click Yes to install.
  12. After the installation completes, go back to recovery’s main menu.
  13. Select reboot system now to reboot the phone.
  14. For first boot up, it normally takes longer time. Please wait patiently.

Instructions: (From Stock ROM)

  1. Root and install CWM recovery. How To Root Guide
  2. Download root checker from Google Play to check your root status.
  3. Press Power + Volume Up + Home Button to enter recovery mode. Check whether CWM/TWRP recovery is successfully installed. Select Reboot system to reboot your device.
